It was anticipated that two base camps would be needed during the operation, one at Kota Baharu, Malaysia and one at Tan Yong Mat, Thailand. Temporary accommodation in wooden buildings had been arranged at those places during the reconnaissance, with the assistance of the Malaysian Army and the RTSD.
